Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the nation tonight following the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, the joint U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
He said the operation was aimed at removing what he called the existential threat posed by the ayatollah regime, and thanked President Donald Trump for what he described as historic leadership and close coordination between the two countries. Netanyahu said the alliance between Israel and the United States had reached an unprecedented level, in both war and peace.
Netanyahu said Israel struck key regime targets in the heart of Tehran, including senior figures in the Revolutionary Guards and the nuclear program. He declared that Iran’s plan to destroy Israel had been dismantled and said Israel would continue striking thousands of terror regime targets in the coming days.
He also addressed the Iranian people directly, urging them not to miss what he called a once in a generation opportunity to rise up against the regime. To Israeli citizens, he called for unity, resilience, and strict adherence to Home Front Command instructions, saying the roar of Israel was now being heard around the world.
