With hearts full of sadness, the CBN Team regrets to inform you of the passing of Lakewood legend, Rav Naftali Hertz Cukier זצ״ל.💔

A talmid of BMG for over fifty years, Rav Naftali was a devoted talmid of Rav Mottel Weinberg during his years in Eastern Parkway, and later continued learning in Lakewood under Rav Shneur Kotler זצ״ל. Even after his Rebbe moved to Montreal, he would travel there for Elul zman to learn and to be mechazek the yeshivah.

For more than thirty years, he dedicated his life with true mesirus nefesh to spreading Torah among Jews in the former Soviet Union. Through twice-yearly seminars and ongoing efforts, he brought bachurim, bnos Yaakov, and mechanchim to inspire hundreds who had grown up without access to Yiddishkeit. Thousands were impacted, and today many of his talmidim are marbitzei Torah across Eretz Yisroel and the former Soviet countries. As a shadchan, he was zocheh to make approximately one hundred shidduchim, building generations of Torah homes.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Pessie Cukier; his sister, Mrs. Hinda BenEzra; his five daughters — Mrs. Blima Prag, Mrs. Faiga Gross, Mrs. Chana Brunner, Mrs. Sylky Resnicoff, and Mrs. Dvora Landsman; and his five sons — Yosef Shneur, Dovid, Aharon, Avrohom Yehuda, and Yitzchok.

The levaya will be held in the Yoshon at 10:00 PM tonight, Motzaei Shabbos.
