Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council and currently the most powerful figure in Tehran, has reached out to Washington via Omani intermediaries requesting renewal of nuclear talks, per The Wall Street Journal report.

Ali Larijani is overseeing Iran’s security and military response as the war with Israel and the U.S. continues and Tehran looks for an exit, but he is not part of the three-member leadership formed after Khamenei’s death.
