Jewish Community in Iran Appears in Pro-Regime Video
A recent video released by Iranian state media features members of the Jewish community in Iran expressing support for the Islamic Republic’s government and its leadership, including praise for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Members of Iran’s Jewish minority marched in a parade held about two weeks ago to mark the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, walking alongside religious and community leaders in support of the regime.
In statements shown in the video, Jewish representatives, including Homayon Shomo, a Jewish member of the Iranian parliament, praised Iran’s treatment of religious minorities. He said the involvement of minorities in the celebrations demonstrated national unity and strength.
Shomo’s comments also included criticism of the United States and asserted that foreign adversaries should recognize Iran’s solidarity.
Another participant, Rabbi Hammami Lazar, a rabbi and physician within the Jewish community, reiterated that religious minorities, including Jews, have always stood with Iran and support advancing the nation despite external threats.
