The Lufthansa Group has announced that Lufthansa and SWISS will continue to operate their nighttime flights to and from Tel Aviv with a technical stopover in Athens through March 15, 2026.

This operational model, initially implemented due to regional security tensions, ensures that flight crews do not have to stay overnight in Israel.

Passengers traveling on these specific night routes should expect slightly longer travel times due to the brief layover in the Greek capital.

Updated arrival and departure times are now reflected in the airlines’ booking systems.

In contrast, other carriers within the group, including Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines, will maintain their current schedule of direct, nonstop flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport.

The company stated that it continues to monitor the security situation in the Middle East closely and will adjust its flight operations as necessary to prioritize the safety of both passengers and crew.
