Trump Faces Over 2,000 Lawsuits After Supreme Court Rejects Global Tariffs

After the Supreme Court ruled that President Trump exceeded his authority with global tariffs, more than 2,000 companies now have lawsuits seeking refunds for duties collected before the ruling. Many of these cases were filed before the decision, and new cases continue to be added. The cases could involve hundreds of billions of dollars and take years to resolve.

Major firms including FedEx, Dyson, Dollar General, Bausch & Lomb, Brooks Brothers, and L’Oréal subsidiaries are part of the litigation. FedEx said it will return any tariff refunds to shippers and consumers who paid the duties.

The Supreme Court did not specify how refunds should be handled, leaving the process to lower courts. Lawmakers and consumer groups are also pushing for direct reimbursements to American households affected by the tariffs.
