Two IDF Soldiers Wounded in Ongoing Clash With Terrorists in Rafah

The Israel Defense Forces said troops came under fire after six armed terrorists emerged from a tunnel shaft, prompting tank fire and aerial strikes in southern Gaza.

Two IDF soldiers were wounded this evening after Israeli forces came under fire during an operational incident in Rafah, in southern Gaza.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, field observers identified six armed terrorists emerging from a tunnel shaft near Israeli troops operating in western Rafah. Tanks were dispatched to the scene and opened fire. During the engagement, terrorists fired at one of the tanks, triggering an exchange of fire that also included targeted aerial strikes.

So far, two terrorists have been eliminated. Forces are continuing to search the area for additional terrorists, and the incident remains ongoing.
